Dr. Aseem Gautam:
Kia ora and Namaste, I am Aseem.
My journey in Ayurvedic and Natural medicine started when I came to know that my mother is suffering from arthritis. Following which, I gained the qualification of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery – a step that has taken me on an unexpected but rewarding journey from a son to a student, to an Ayurvedic doctor and a teacher at Naturopathic College of New Zealand. After graduating, I spent seven years working in the Ministry of Health (India) as an Ayurvedic Medical Officer, a role that fuelled my passion for traditional, complementary and alternative medicine. A move to New Zealand provided me with the ideal opportunity to share my expertise within the community, while also positively contributing to the health of individuals through the practice of Ayurvedic and natural medicine. My particular areas of interest are allergic conditions, chronic diseases and Ayurvedic detoxification therapies known as Panchakarma.
I am also a certified Laughter Yoga teacher and run sessions of Laughter yoga in New Plymouth for different communities.
I am currently practicing Ayurvedic medicine and Naturopathy in New Plymouth and teaching at the Naturopathic College of New Zealand to future practitioners. I am also enrolled with Victoria University of Wellington for Master’s in Professional Practice and intend to do research on the role of herbal medicines in near future.
Top tip: Nature is the best healer, you just need to follow it.

Dr. Raman Gautam:
Kia ora and Namaste, I am Raman.
My journey has started about 13 years ago when I completed my qualification in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. I have always dreamed of becoming a health practitioner to understand how human bodies work, what imbalances can lead to different health conditions and how I can help if those happen.
After extensive training in women and children’s health in the integrative setting in India, I decided to learn further and came to New Zealand to complete Post-graduate Diploma in Health Sciences. My particular areas of interest are women’s health such as infertility, hormonal imbalances, pregnancy, post-childbirth, pre & post-menopausal issues and children’s health.
Currently, I am practicing Ayurvedic medicine and Naturopathy in New Plymouth and teaching at the Naturopathic College of New Zealand.
Top Tip: The more you understand your body, the more health and wellbeing you will achieve.
* Bachelor of Alternative Medicine and Surgery (Ayurvedic Medicine), Diploma in Naturopathy and Yoga, Post-graduate Diploma in Health Sciences.
